From the very beginning of my master degree, I wanted to make a game as the final creation of this program. I have
wandered around a lot in my journey before I came here as a game design student. A friend of mine said game is a
combined form of arts which I agree it a lot. Designing a game allows a lot of freedom, the things that we can create

in the world of the game can be anything from architecture, interior, landscape, environment, creatures, stories,
almost everything, the only limitation is our creativity.
I was so lucky to have met the teammates of mine now, which each of them have different talents and passion which
allows us to work smoothly with the specific things that each of us can do.
It took us a while to think of the name of the game, at first all we know was we wanted to create a game with a
background of 80s 90s Hong Kong in the Kowloon Walled City. We realised that the lives of the people who lived in the
walled city was very depressed since they were broke, a lot of them did not have a valid passport, the living
environment was really dirty and messy. They may not have the choice over what to do for their living while carrying
a lot of burden.
The shape of the walled city itself looked like a cage, that was how we had come up with the name, but also, we, the
people who live in Hong Kong nowadays are like living in a cage. We do not have the physical cages that are

restricting us, yet we live with a lot of norms and thoughts that limit us from being free. We want to create a game

that is authentic and will bring people the feeling of nostalgia of the old Hong Kong, also empowers people to believe

in life and set themselves free from their own invisible cages.
