HANJIN
BRANDING AND GRAPHIC DESIGN
COLLABORATED WITH PETER LAMPARD AND NORMAN UNG FROM DEFT
ADOBE ILLUSTRATOR, PHOTOSHOP, RHINOCEROS, HAND SKETCHES

Anchor 2
It was a project I have took part in when I was in Design Eight Five Two (DEFT, a design studio based in Hong Kong).
HANJIN aims to be a speed cutting and styling salon. The concept of the client was to provide an economical and
speedy alternative for the public in hair cutting. Being fast but also being able to maintain quality.
LOGO DESIGN

The design of the logo was focused on being gender neutral and keeping everything clean and neat. I have tried to
make everything accurate, precise and uncomplicated. At first I wrapped the size and ratio within every element and
part inside the characters of each of the three languages (Chinese, English and Korean), to make them the most
balanced to achieve neatness and clarity.
During the process, I have used Rhinoceros in reforming the font and exported it to Adobe Illustrator for final touches
and arrangements.

The above is the 3 alternatives of the final version of the logos. The graph was extracted from the branding guide from
DEFT (created by Peter Lampard). The logos (in two different language combination) were presented into the three
main colours from the brand's colour palette.

The video was to be put on the screen in the store which was for promotional purpose, either for the people who were
waiting for the haircut or the people pass by outside the store. It was co-created with Peter Lampard.
